The Antistatic corrugated rubber tube is widely used as flexible and lightweight breathing tube.it should be made antistatic (.1-1mega ohms). The tube may be made of rubber,plastic,or polyethylene and also in smooth form.corrugated tubes are preferred as they allow acute angulation without kinking. Breathing tube usually acts as a reservoir in certain systems and provides a flexible,low resistance,light weight connection from one part of the system to another.it can also be used to connect the ventilator to the breathing circuit. The diameter of the tube should be such as to present a low resistance to gas flow and to promote a laminar flow.the capacity of a standard corrugated hose is about 550ml. The end of the corrugated tube are smooth for about one inch,incorporated with hard rubber connector.both the ends have 22mm female connectors for joining with the components like-bag mount and expiratory valve.
